How to Optimize your Pinterest Pins with SEO Keywords

I started with a pin that I had made a few days prior that honestly had done well—for me. And, that would mean the pin got 12 views.

This was my un-researched raw pin lol that I just tried my best on.

Now I am starting over using some SEO tools that I found through other online recommendations.

I went to trends.pinterest.com and started to set up my filters based on what my pin is about. Here is the part where I guess you just have to like use your judgement. I perused some of the popular searches and picked a couple that I thought could help my pin be more successful.

I selected “bathroom ideas” “bathroom decor” and “bathroom remodel” in addition to a few others.

When you click on the trend you get to a page with some graphs and popular pins examples. It also gives you some other popular search terms. You can add related trends to the graph and compare other popular search terms. From here, I think the idea is to add these phrases and form there on more and more descriptive variations of what your pin is about to the description and title of the pin. I have also read adding text to the image itself increases SEO goodness.

I started playing with the Keyword feature and searched “bathroom” and got a bunch of results. An interesting one I did not think to tag that hase been gaining some traction is “Penny Tile Bathroom” and “1920s Bathroom.”

I clicked through a bunch of categories and keywords related to my image and ended up writing what o me feels like a very clunky description. However, I included a bunch of keywords and phrases that according to this trends website, are all really popping on Pinterest right now.

The Title was a combination of two keyword phrases that were popular: “bathroom ideas” and “small full bathroom ideas”— both of which trended well.

Per the description…

For my guest bathroom, I wanted something with penny tile that felt like a modern 1920s bathroom. After this Modern Art Deco Bathroom Remodel, I have a perfect space to do self care and get more stabalized life routines in place. Creating functional small bathroom designs can be a challenge, however adding undersink storage and choosing the right bathroom sink decor is a great way to make your space more organized and also create a cozy maximalism vibe.
